Chris Kemp
Chris joined Heanor Operatic Society in 1998 and since then has only missed two shows. He was brought in to play the dead body of Billy Bigelow. Fortunately, Riga mortise did not set in and he was able to play Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls the following year. Chris enjoys a dramatic role as much as comedy. During the nine years in musical theatre Chris has been fortunate enough to be involved with The Cast, Long Eaton Operatic and more recently helping out Drama Queens in Derby.
Prior to his musical debut Chris was a very keen thespian being involved with The Langley Mill Co-operative Players for twenty-five years. Performing the ‘not-so-well-known’ as well as the ‘classics’ and ‘traditional’ has been a good grounding. Chris’ favourite characters include John Worthing ‘The importance of being Earnest’, Herbert Soppitt ‘When we are married’ and Bob ‘Outside edge’. Chris admits that he is very excited, and apprehensive at the prospect of acting with the FOURBLOKES Company, but is looking forward to doing a straightforward play after such a long break.
